ClearDeed — Terms and Conditions

Last updated: October 1, 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the ClearDeed mobile app ("the app"), published by NGN Consulting Corp. ("we", "us"). The app asks you to accept these Terms and our End-User License Agreement ("EULA"), and to acknowledge our Privacy Policy, before you use it; by accepting, or by using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

These Terms and the EULA are meant to be read together. If they ever conflict, these Terms govern, except on the scope of your license to use the app, where the EULA governs.

1. What ClearDeed is

ClearDeed is a planning and educational calculator. It compares ways of paying off a mortgage — including paying as scheduled, extra principal, biweekly payments, and "velocity banking" with a home equity line of credit (HELOC) — using only the numbers you enter. It does not connect to your bank, lender or any financial account, and it never moves money.

2. Not financial advice; no guarantee

ClearDeed is not a lender, bank, broker, mortgage originator, or financial, investment, tax or legal advisor, and nothing in the app is a recommendation to take any financial action. Every payoff date, interest figure, saving or "next action" the app shows is an estimate calculated from your inputs and our stated assumptions. None of them is a promise or guarantee of any payoff date or dollar amount saved. Real results depend on your lender's terms, how interest is actually charged, rate changes, fees, your own spending, and events we cannot predict.

ClearDeed is a model, not your lender’s statement. It projects from the numbers you enter using standard formulas: monthly mortgage amortization with interest charged in arrears, daily HELOC interest posted on your statement day, your HELOC’s draw period, and the payment dates you provide. It does not account for prepayment penalties, loan recasts or modifications, lender fees, escrow, mortgage insurance, taxes, your lender’s own rules for applying payments, minimum-payment or rate-cap terms in your loan documents, or any change to your HELOC’s rate beyond the rates you enter or the rate-rise scenarios it shows. Its results are theoretical estimates, not an audited payment schedule.

Strategies that move debt onto a HELOC carry real risk: a HELOC's rate can rise at any time, the lender can freeze or lower the line, and the HELOC is secured by your home. Before changing how you pay any loan, confirm the details with your lender and consider speaking with a qualified professional. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions.

3. Your information and accuracy

You are responsible for the accuracy of the numbers you enter. Your plan is stored only on your device, as described in the Privacy Policy. If you create a backup file, you choose where it is stored and you are responsible for keeping it private and safe. We cannot recover a plan that is lost with a device and has no backup. Because your data lives only on your device, we have no liability for the loss or corruption of app data or backup files, including from device failure or loss, operating-system updates, storage errors, uninstalling or clearing the app, or a backup file being lost or altered — so please keep a current backup.

4. Purchases and subscriptions

The core analysis is free. Optional paid features — a one-time "Full analysis" purchase and a yearly "Tracking" subscription — are sold through Google Play, and your purchase is also governed by the Google Play Terms of Service. Prices are shown in the app and on Google Play before you buy.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app, including by copying, reselling or redistributing it, attempting to bypass purchases, or using it in violation of any law. The license that lets you use the app is described in the End-User License Agreement.

6. Intellectual property

The app, its design, text, calculations and branding, including the name "ClearDeed", belong to NGN Consulting Corp. or its licensors. These Terms do not give you any rights to them other than the limited license in the EULA.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app's calculations are error-free, that it will meet your needs, or that it will be uninterrupted or free of defects.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NGN Consulting Corp. will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of money, savings, profits or data, arising from your use of or reliance on the app — including any financial decision you make based on its estimates. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NGN Consulting Corp. from claims arising out of your misuse of the app or your violation of these Terms.

10. Changes and termination

We may update the app or these Terms. The current Terms are always at this address with a new "Last updated" date; continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms. You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your license if you breach these Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, unless applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring it where you live.
