Restyle (“the app”) is operated by NGN Consulting Corp. (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how long we keep it, in plain language.
Restyle can redesign your room two ways: fully on your device, where your photo never leaves your phone, or using real AI cloud rendering. Cloud rendering runs one of two ways — through Restyle’s own AI service (paid for out of the credits or subscription you already have in the app, no setup required), or through your own Replicate account if you add an API key in Settings, an advanced option for users who prefer that. Everything below explains exactly what happens under each option.
| What | Why we need it | Leaves your device? |
|---|---|---|
| Room photos you snap or upload, and any sample photos of flooring, window treatments, or rugs you add to a design | To generate your redesign | Only if you use cloud rendering — see “How cloud rendering works” below |
| Design history (generated images, room type, style, and any notes you typed) | So your past designs appear in the app | No — stored only in the app’s local database |
| Saved shopping items and taste preferences | To build your shopping list and learn which styles you favor | No — local only |
| Render credits and subscription status | To track your free renders and unlock unlimited access if you subscribe | No — local only. Google Play separately keeps its own purchase record; see section 3 |
| Your Replicate API token, if you add one in Settings | To authenticate your own cloud-rendering requests | Sent only to Replicate, only as part of a render request you initiate |
| An anonymous installation identifier — a random id generated on your device, not tied to your name or any personal information | To apply your credits/subscription to app-provided cloud renders and prevent abuse, without requiring an account | Yes — sent to Restyle’s own backend with each app-provided cloud-rendering request |
| Reports you choose to send — if you flag an AI-generated design, the reason you pick, any details you type, and that design’s room type, style, and text prompt | To review AI output that users find offensive and improve our content filtering | Yes — sent to Restyle’s own backend, only when you send a report. Your photo and the generated image are never included |
We do not collect: your name, email, location, contacts, or any device identifier for advertising. Restyle has no account system, no advertising SDK, and no analytics or tracking SDK of any kind.
Restyle does not request Android’s camera permission and never accesses the camera directly. When you tap “Camera” in the app, it hands off to your phone’s own camera app, which returns a single photo file to Restyle after you take it. We never see anything the camera captures beyond that one photo you chose to keep.
When cloud rendering isn’t available at all (for example, no network connection), Restyle falls back to generating redesigns entirely on your device using a built-in style engine — your room photo never leaves your phone in that mode.
By default, real AI redesigns run through Restyle’s own backend, which we operate and host with a third-party hosting provider. The photo for that specific design, your chosen style, any text you typed, any sample photos you added (flooring, window treatment, or rug), and your anonymous installation identifier are sent to our backend, which generates the redesign using Replicate, an AI hosting service, under Restyle’s own account — not yours. Replicate runs the AI image model, which is currently Google’s Gemini image model, so Google also processes that photo, your sample photos, and your design instructions to create the image. The finished image is returned to the app. This is paid for out of the free renders, credit packs, or subscription you already have in Restyle — there’s nothing extra to set up. Our backend does not store your photo: it’s held in memory only long enough to generate that one design, then discarded. Images made with Google’s model carry Google’s invisible SynthID watermark, which identifies them as AI-generated; it contains no information about you.
The first time the app contacts our backend, it also sends a one-time Google Play Integrity check — a token from Google Play services confirming the request comes from the genuine Restyle app installed from Google Play on a real device. Our backend passes it to Google to verify and uses the result only to decide whether the new installation receives the free starting renders, which stops people from claiming them over and over with fake installs. Google processes this check under its own Play Integrity terms; we do not store the token or anything Google returns about your device.
If you’d rather use your own Replicate account instead, you can paste your own Replicate API token into Settings. Once a token is present, Restyle sends the photo for that specific design, your chosen style, and any text you typed directly to Replicate using your own account, bypassing our backend entirely. Remove the token in Settings at any time to go back to Restyle’s own AI service.
| Provider | What it receives | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Restyle’s own backend (and its hosting provider) | A room photo, any sample photos you added, style choice, text prompt, and your anonymous installation identifier — only for a design you generate using Restyle’s own AI service (the default cloud option). Also any report you choose to send about a design (no photo or image) | Runs your AI redesign request, then forwards it to Replicate under Restyle’s own account; stores reports so we can review flagged AI output |
| Replicate | A room photo, any sample photos you added, style choice, and text prompt — either from Restyle’s backend (default) or directly from the app if you’ve added your own Replicate token | AI image generation |
| Google (Gemini image model, via Replicate) | The same room photo, sample photos, style choice, and text prompt, passed on by Replicate when it runs Google’s model for a design made with Restyle’s own AI service | AI image generation, under Google’s own terms as the model provider |
| RevenueCat | Purchase/subscription event data (which product was purchased, and your anonymous installation identifier) — no payment details | Confirms your purchase so credits/subscription apply correctly to Restyle’s own AI service |
| Google (Play Integrity) | A one-time integrity token from Google Play services on your device, the first time the app contacts our backend | Confirming the request comes from the genuine app on a real device, to stop abuse of the free starting renders |
| Google Play Billing | Your purchase and subscription transactions | Processing payments. We never see your payment details — Google Play handles those directly |
That is the complete list. We do not sell your data, and we do not share anything for advertising — there is no advertising SDK in this app to share it with.
Tapping a “Shop” link opens a retailer’s page (such as Amazon or Wayfair) in your browser. That is just a link-out; Restyle does not send the retailer any information about you, and anything that happens on the retailer’s site is covered by their own privacy policy, not this one. Some of these links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy something — at no extra cost to you.
We may also disclose information if legally required to, or where necessary to protect someone’s safety or our legal rights. If our business is ever sold or transferred, your data may transfer with it.
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Room photos, design history, saved items, taste preferences, credits, Replicate token | Kept on your device until you delete a design in the app or uninstall Restyle |
| Photos sent to Restyle’s backend for its own AI service | Not stored — held in memory only for the seconds it takes to generate that one design, then discarded. Retention on Replicate’s side (which our backend forwards to) and by Google as the model provider is governed by their own policies |
| Photos sent directly to Replicate (your own token) | Not retained by us at all — retention on Replicate’s side is governed by Replicate’s own policy, not ours |
| Anonymous installation identifier and its credit/subscription balance | Kept on our backend for as long as you use Restyle’s own AI service, so your balance persists between app sessions; not linked to your name or any personal information. Uninstalling the app does not delete this balance automatically today — email us to have it removed |
| Reports you send about a design | Kept on our backend while we review them and use them to improve content filtering; linked only to your anonymous installation identifier. Email us to have your reports removed |
| Purchase/subscription records | Held by Google Play under Google’s own retention policy; RevenueCat retains purchase-event records under its own policy to keep that balance accurate; we do not separately store your payment history |
Restyle has no account and no server-side database of your content — your photos and designs — so there’s nothing for us to delete there on request: uninstalling the app permanently deletes all of your design history, saved items, and settings. You can also delete individual designs from within the app at any time (open a design and use the delete option), which removes that design and its shopping bookmarks immediately. The one thing that does live on our backend is your anonymous installation identifier and its credit/subscription balance (see the table above) — email us if you’d like that removed.
To manage or cancel a subscription, or to review your purchase history, use Google Play’s own subscription management (Play Store app → Menu → Payments & subscriptions).
Your design history and settings are stored in the app’s private storage area, which Android isolates from other apps by default. Any request Restyle makes — to our own backend, to Replicate for a cloud render, or to a retailer’s shop link — travels over HTTPS (encrypted in transit). No system is perfectly secure, but Restyle keeps its attack surface small on purpose: no account to compromise, and our own backend never stores your photos — it only ever holds one in memory for the moment it takes to generate that design.
Restyle is not intended for anyone under 13, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Because the app has no account system, we have no way to knowingly collect anything from a child in the first place.
We operate from the United States. If you use cloud rendering, your photo is processed by our backend and/or Replicate’s and Google’s infrastructure, which may be located outside your country. If you use Restyle from outside the US, be aware that data you choose to send off-device may be processed in the US or elsewhere, where data protection law may differ from your own.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export data about you. Almost all of Restyle’s data lives on your device and is already fully under your control through the app itself and your device settings; the only exception is the anonymous installation identifier and credit/subscription balance described above, which you can ask us to delete by email. If you have a question we haven’t answered here, email us at the address below and we will help.
If we change this policy materially, we will update the date at the top. Continuing to use Restyle after a material change means you accept the updated policy.
